The Shanghai Tower  is a 632-metre (2,073 ft), 128-story megatal  skyscraper in LujiazuiPudongShanghai. It is the world's second-tallest building by height to architectural top (behind Dubai's Burj Khalifa, 828 m) and the world's third-tallest structure (behind Tokyo Skytree, 634 m).

Its tiered construction, designed for high energy efficiency, provides nine separate zones divided between office, retail and leisure use.

The overall environmental design incorporated a large scale design process that included user experience, user journeys, multiple transportation access points and entry points. The project was contractually required to work directly with University students in Shanghai as part of the overall process. The design intent documentation was prepared in a variety of languages in both metric and imperial formats. Wayfinding, user experiences and environmental graphics were designed to allow users to interact with multiple spaces such as a shopping, transportation, hotel, office, parking and living spaces. This porject involved thousands of pages of documentation at every phase prior to moving to the next phase of work.
